I don't understand a single positive review. This "game" is 30 mins at best, and the only thing you do is talk to about 8 characters, fetch a couple obvious items for them, then the game ends. The word "detective" is in the title, but there's no detective work to do! It's true that the dialogue is funny and the music is nice, but that's it... for 30 mins. When the credits roll, you assume it's a goof, but it's not. It's a middle finger and a waste of $5.. Everything about this game is amazing! The art is great, the dialogue is funny, and the story is really cute and fun! This game has made me want to try my hand at making 3D models and helping my partner with games they make in the future!!. this is the funniest game AND it has mega charm = 10/10 GOTY. I made a mistake relying only on overall review score and not reading negative reviews, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it.I hoped this would be a great short detective game, maybe with a mind-blowing plot twist or with non-trivial mechanics. I was excited to see a magnifying glass and tried to find a good use for it, I wrote down all clues from scientists' notebooks, but everything was useless. You take object A to person X, get object B in return, rinse and repeat about 10 times.I don't understand the purpose of the "cutscene" about books and internet. Why even make the frog say it to immediately "apologise" for it?Overall, I don't understand who is the target audience for this game. It could be advertised as a game for kids, however the dialogs probably wont't keep the kid interested. There is no challenge to be a good mystery/adventure game, no narrative or exploration possibilities to be a good walking simulator, no depth.. Super cute game, great writing and art design. I totally love small weird indie games like this, it's refreshing to have a game I can complete in under an hour. After playing this I checked out Grace Bruxner's other games on Itch.io and loved them. Hope a sequel gets made, I'm dying for more Frog Detective adventures!. Sometimes, at a point of your life, you start wondering what's life is all about, aka having a midlife crisis. Then you realize how absurd the whole world and societies are, so the best way is to embrace the absurdity of it. The writing is hilarious, there's no plot holes, would recommend any day.. Utter delight of a game. Super charming, funny, and a real joy to play.. Adorable, silly experience. The perfect gift for your fave 6-8 year old kid.. I adore the characters and writing in this universe - yes it is a very short game, but it was a perfect treat for my afternoon and my money feels well-spent since I hope to see more frog detective cases in the future!!
